THE SURGE. THE PROPULSION
 
The emptiness,
The voidlike eminence,
The impeccable darkness
 
Gives birth to him
And unendingly he falls
Into the ravines
 
He seduces the crags
Caresses them, nibbles them
And irrecoverably drags them away
 
Satiated with themselves
The cold forms
Yearn for his touch
 
Facing the surge
Of ceaseless transformation
Everything shudders!

NEXT STEP
 
Until when it will be beside me,
Until when and until where
It will follow me
This winged lion,
This gentle beast,
A protector
That was sent to me
As a gift
By my best friend,
Who taught me not to withdraw
From the road paved with flint-stones,
Edged with myrtle,
So that I would not enrage
My faithful companion,
And he tears me apart
Before I make that fatal step
To the Abyss.

Jovica Tasevski – Eternijan (1976) – poet, essayist and literary critic. He has published six full-length poetry collections and two books of criticism and essays and has edited two anthologies of Macedonian poetry. He was bestowed The Enchanting Poet Award for excellent contribution in poetry writing, given by Verseville (formerly The Enchanting Verses Literary Review). His poems have been translated into more than twenty languages and are published in many literary magazines and anthologies in around thirty countries. He is a member of the Macedonian Writers' Association.
