Julie Nice - Guest Editor ISSUE XXVIII
Julie Nice is a project manager and producer in the field of literature and art music. She graduated in English literature and Political science and worked for major institutions the Mémorial de la Shoah and the Ministry of Culture for the International Night of Museums. Until 2017 she worked for Le Printemps des Poètes, a major poetry festival in France. From 2015 to 2017, she led the French participation in Versopolis, a European poetry platform that creates new opportunities for emerging European poets and is supported by the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme. She invited and published authors like Sigurbjörg Thrastardottir, Krzysztof Siwczyk, Giedre Kazlauskaite, Nikolina Andova, Martin Solotruk, Dorta Jagic, Stanka Hrastelj, Maria Barnas, Meirion Jordan and Tiziano Fratus.
She now works as a freelancer for several publishers as a corrector, translator and rewriter. She took part, recently, in the publication of the first french anthology dedicated to female Beat Generation poets (Bruno Doucey Publishing House). She is a member of the redaction board of La Traductière, a publishing house and review which focuses on international poetry and its translation and worked on the publication of books by Shuhrid Shahidullah, Ko Un, Gabriel Chifu, Lucian Vasilescu and Eugen Suciu.
Julie Nice is also a producer in art music and works with director Pierre Mosnier for the Ensemble Parallèle, an orchestra composed of young professionnal musicians.
She is also a member of the Society of Robert Desnos' Friends, for which she created a new website and organises events. www.robertdesnos.com
