David Colmer - Editor Issue XXVI Dutch Special Edition
David Colmer is an Australian writer and literary translator who lives in Amsterdam. Besides poetry, he also translates novels and children’s literature. Colmer has translated more than 60 books and has won many literary translation prizes, including the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize (both with novelist Gerbrand Bakker), and major Dutch and Australian prizes for his body of work. His most recent poetry translations are Menno Wigman’s Window-Cleaner Sees Paintings (Arc), Paul van Ostaijen’s Occupied City (Smokestack), Ester Naomi Perquin’s The Hunger in Plain View and Nachoem M. Wijnberg’s Divan of Ghalib (both White Pine Press, USA).
