The Reaction

And after the long silences
                                                          A sound was pierced and fell
          It stayed where it was like old buses
Chemistry
                                                                  There were birds
                        Our land screaming all around was a nest
                                                                        Unable to read and speak

1.
Do not sleep without kissing  
Like a faceless fugitive in bed

 

2.
And I was a drink in Tom Waits' throat, and I woke up.

 

3.
I made all my good gods bleed
when the day fell

 

4.

What do I expect from a universe created in six days
Do not speak with such sloppy and irregular wounds
Look at some water from above one evening
I slept with a poem that scattered its hair.
I was a broken pen when I woke up.

 

5.

If I pour my grandfather onto the waters one day
Bird sounds coming out off the leaves will hit the shore
The butterfly will break down the wall and come out

 

6.

My voice is so crowded tonight
If I call your name, it's a chaos, and if I am silent it's poetry in the mirror
Looking at you is a safety pin
My eyes are poetry
Attach them to your body

 

7.
A white paper resembles everything hurt
A good ship can be made of it, float it
There is a playful mood within the evenings
It's not my hands that gamble using you
This is just a scent, if disappeared it will get torn
Our share have been made of paper and game
Pour tea for three masters into this exile
Let our sides baptised for pen remain as poetry
During the master's exile

Beytullah Kılıç was born to a farmer family in April 1990 in Denizli. In June 2011, he graduated from Balıkesir University, Necatibey Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish Language Education. He got married in December 2014. He has a daughter named Eftelya. 
His poems, writings on poetry and interviews with poets have been published in many magazines. He farms in the land in which he was born during summer months. He loves the soil. 
His file named Tenha Tetik (The Secluded Trigger) was "mentioned" in Arkadaş Z. Özger Poetry Competition 2014. His file named Acı Pabuç Sahili (The Coast of Bitter Shoes) was deemed worthy of the Special Jury Prize in  Buca Municipality Ali Rıza Ertan Poetry Competition 2016. With his file named Dip Kuruntusu (The Bottom Delusion) he won KEGEV Sunullah Arısoy Poetry Award 2018.
The poet's aforesaid files were gathered in his book entitled Acı Pabuç Sahili (The Coast of Bitter Shoes) in 2019.
